sorry to take the focus off nate, but i gotta say RIP peter jennings. i fucking loved him...he held me down during 9-11...when i was sleeping on the pull out couch so i could have the tv going 24/7, and i woke up from a nightmare of burning to death at my job, there he was, around the clock with his ultra-soothing voice, relaying facts and, surprisingly, his own subdued bewilderment as the events unfolded. he stole me away from ted koppel and i never went back (i'm a news groupie, i admit it, ted could have got the draws back in the day).

also to ibrahim ferrer, reknowned cuban singer, popularly known for his comeback with the buena vista social club...
