Whip-Whop Y2K, Director's Commentary
I haven't seen Whip-Whop in, probably, about three years. But once I started reliving it...I had a lot to say. Especially in trying to describe it to some, who may never see it.
Ultimately, the movie was somewhat of a farce, made by a bunch of 19 - 22-year-old dudes with some odd senses of humor. But despite that, we took the making of the film seriously. We spent money on costumes, planned shooting sites, ducked cops and angry neighbors. Even rented a viewing room with a movie screen to debut it.
So I'm gonna treat the commentary like I'm Spike Lee or Mel Brooks or Spielberg or whomever.
I'm breaking this up into sections, because I have no self-control and tend to ramble. And since I refuse to edit these blog posts or spend time trimming them, they'll always come out incredibly long.
Anyways...check back throughout the day and leave some comments, especially for those that helped make the film or saw it back in 98/99.
...remember to start reading the posts from the bottom - up...since the blog posts the most recent submission at the top.
